This website is operated by the Ishiyama Laboratory at the Institute of Regional Development, Hosei University. It is not an official website of Hosei University.
2. Information collected through the contact form
Information we collect
Your topic, name, organization, department, phone number, email address, message, and preferred reply date. The organization, department, phone number, and preferred reply date are optional. The same applies to both our contact form in English and our contact form in Japanese.
Purpose of use
We use this information only to reply to your inquiry and to contact you as necessary for that purpose. We do not use it for any other purpose.
How we handle it
- The information you submit is delivered to the Laboratory by email. It is not stored on this website’s server.
- To send the form and deliver the email, we use the services of Cloudflare, which also delivers this website.
- We keep the emails we receive only as long as necessary to reply to you and to follow up.
Spam prevention (Cloudflare Turnstile)
To prevent spam from bots, the contact pages use Cloudflare Turnstile. To check that the sender is not a bot, Turnstile sends information about your browser and device, your IP address, and similar information to Cloudflare. For details, see Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
3. Provision to third parties
We do not provide personal information entrusted to us to any third party, except with your consent or as required by law.
4. Web analytics and access logs
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people view this website and to improve it. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies. It aggregates the pages viewed, referring websites, browser types, countries and regions, and similar information in a form that does not identify individuals.
- To operate this website securely and to respond to problems, Cloudflare’s servers keep records (access logs) of IP addresses, the pages viewed, browser types, dates and times, and similar information for a certain period.

This website itself does not use cookies. However, the services described in “Third-party services” below and the websites we link to may use cookies or similar technologies. You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Google Fonts (fonts)

YouTube (videos)
The home page and the videos page (in Japanese) feature YouTube videos. When a page is displayed, only the video thumbnails are loaded from YouTube’s servers. When you press the play button, the YouTube player is loaded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). This website contains links to external websites, such as Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), as well as universities, academic societies, publishers, and the researchmap database of researchers. Please refer to the privacy policy of each website for how it handles personal information. Links to Amazon.co.jp, such as those on our books page, are part of the Amazon Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, this website earns from qualifying purchases.

All communication with this website is encrypted with SSL/TLS (the address begins with “https”). Information you submit through the contact form is also sent encrypted.
9. Requests for disclosure, correction, or deletion, and inquiries
If you wish to request disclosure, correction, deletion, or suspension of use of your personal information held by the Laboratory, or if you have any questions about this policy, please use our contact form. We will respond after confirming your identity.
You can also use the contact form to request the correction or removal of information published on this website, such as names and achievements on the students’ research achievements page (in Japanese).
10. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy in response to changes in laws and regulations or to this website. If we make changes, we will announce them on this page.
